Overview

The Physician Support Analyst provides analytical support to the Director of Operations and Assistant Vice President of Operations related to physician production, quality, and clinic operations.

Responsibilities
  • Support analytical projects: formulate methodology, establish data requirements, identify client deliverables, determine tasks and timing
  • Maintain a working knowledge of the data sources to report findings accurately and efficiently in a meaningful and understandable manner.
  • Execute analyses and make the results accessible and relevant to a wide variety of users
  • Develops and refines analysis templates for problem diagnosis and opportunity assessment
  • Collaborate effectively with other analytical team members
  • Demonstrate initiative to improve quality and customer service by striving to exceed customer expectations.
  • Contribute to the creation of a culture of innovation, learning, teamwork, and professional practice, consistent with the mission, vision and values of the organization
  • Establish effective mechanisms of communication with staff, providers, and the management team to foster an environment of openness, trust and teamwork.

  • Completes special projects and management reports as assigned.

  • Demonstrates ability to meet business needs of department with regular, reliable attendance.
  • Employee maintains current licenses and/or certifications required for the position.
  • Practices and reflects knowledge of HIPAA, TJC, DNV, OSHA and other federal/state regulatory agencies guiding healthcare.
  • Completes all annual education and competency requirements within the calendar year.
  • Is knowledgeable of hospital and department compliance requirements for federally funded healthcare programs (e.g. Medicare and Medicaid) regarding fraud, waste and abuse.
  • Brings any questions or concerns regarding compliance to the immediate attention of hospital administrative staff.
  • Takes appropriate action on concerns reported by department staff related to compliance.

Qualifications

EDUCATION:

- Two-year associate degree or equivalent experience.

- Bachelor degree preferred.

EXPERIENCE:

- Two years' experience in analytics or healthcare operations setting, including one year with personal computer applications and business metrics.

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITES:

- Writes, reads, comprehends and speaks fluent English.

- Multicultural sensitivity.

- Microsoft Office - basic computer skills.

- Customer/patient focused.

- Critical thinking skills using independent judgment in making decisions.

- Must have attention to detail.

- Must be able to multitask and stay on track with completing job functions in a very busy work environment with multiple distractions.

- Ability to adapt to frequent changes in insurance plans, hospital and departmental procedures, job functions and new technology.

- Use of usual and customary equipment used to perform essential functions of the position.

- Work may occasionally require travel to other UPH facilities; may drive a UPH vehicle, rental, or own vehicle.
