Material Handler

Job Title: Material Handler

Location: Houma, LA

Position Overview: The Material Handler conducts activities relating to the movement of primarily raw materials.

Key Responsibilities:

• Determines appropriate storage location of materials upon arrival.
• Moves necessary resources, i.e., personnel, equipment, to offload materials.
• Moves excess materials from job site to inventory storage.
• Performs and reconciles physical inventories.
• Ensures the daily maintenance of all equipment by material handlers and report any problems to the maintenance department.
• Ensures compliance with related Quality procedures.

Experience:

• Two (2) years of material handling or continuous Company experience is a similar position preferred.

Skills and Abilities:

• Knowledge of materials used in the construction/repair vessels.
• Good reading skills.
• Basic knowledge of computer software, i.e., Windows Navigation.
• Good communication skills, including written and oral communication.
• Able to work well with others.
