Location:

Hingham, MA Plant - Filling industrial How will you CONTRIBUTE and GROW? Working lead supervisor to provide direct supervision and hands on with our 2nd shift operation team.
  • Position Title: Production Associate - 2nd Shift Lead Plant Operator

    - Hingham, MA
    - 2nd Shift - 1pm - 9:30pm (Some overtime is required)
    - Monday - Friday (Some Saturdays are required)
  • Identifies and facilitates the correction of all safety hazards and quality deficiencies.
  • Leads, and trains, production associates to ensure compliance with Airgas policies and procedures.
  • Communicates operational status on a continual basis to the Plant
  • Supervises the safe start-up, shutdown, of our 2nd shift loaders and the rest of the production team.
  • Partners with other Plant Supervisors to ensure smooth day-to-day operations.

  • Promotes a strong safety and compliance culture correcting unsafe acts or conditions without delay.

  • Implements measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, quality of product, and changes working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of work crew. Initiates or suggests plans to motivate workers to achieve work goals.

  • Analyzes and resolves work problems, or assists workers in solving work problems.

  • Trains new workers and cross trains employees to continue production during personnel shortages.

  • Operates a forklift, pallet jack and other warehouse equipment.
  • Loads cylinders on/off vehicles, using hand truck or chain hoist, and records type and quantity of cylinders.
  • Loads/unloads cylinders on/off pallets; ensuring they are strapped in.
  • - Rolls cylinders to designated work area using appropriate, safe work method or equipment
    - Segregates out of test cylinders and any defective cylinders.
    - Removes old labels, cleans cylinders.
    - Performs other duties as assigned.

  • HS Diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Experience in a supervisory role of more than 5 production personnel in an industrial environment.
  • Self-starter, able to effectively supervise work teams to meet the production demands.
  • Decision making to execute company policies and plant procedures.
  • Organizational skills to facilitate inventory management, personnel files, and time management.
  • Very good written and verbal skills and the ability to complete basic reports.
  • Comfortable with computer systems and software packages such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and e-mail.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Ability to work independently and under some pressure to meet deadlines.
  • Strong level of attention to detail.
  • Ability to add, subtracts, multiply, and divides in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
