Emergency Department Overview:

The Emergency Department at GW Hospital provides comprehensive care for patients experiencing acute medical conditions, trauma, and critical illnesses. As a Level I Trauma Center, the ED at GW Hospital is equipped to handle the most complex emergency cases, with highly specialized teams available 24/7. The Emergency Department is a 62-bed unit, including resuscitation rooms, fast-track areas, and specialized spaces for trauma, cardiac emergencies, and stroke. Our ED is supported by state-of-the-art diagnostic and treatment facilities, with rapid access to radiology, laboratory, and surgical services.

Job Summary:

GW Hospital is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Clinical Supervisor - Emergency Department to lead and support the nursing team in our fast-paced, high-acuity Emergency Department. The Clinical Supervisor will provide leadership, oversight, and clinical expertise, ensuring that patient care standards are maintained while fostering a collaborative and efficient working environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide clinical leadership and supervision for emergency department nursing staff, ensuring the delivery of high-quality care in accordance with established protocols and best practices.
• Assist with staffing, scheduling, and resource allocation to meet the fluctuating demands of the Emergency Department.
• Collaborate with the ED management team to ensure compliance with regulatory standards and hospital policies, while promoting a culture of safety and quality.
• Act as a clinical resource and mentor for nursing staff, providing guidance and support in complex and high-acuity cases.
• Participate in interdisciplinary rounds, quality improvement initiatives, and emergency preparedness efforts to enhance patient care and department efficiency.
• Lead and support the implementation of evidence-based practices, policies, and procedures aimed at improving patient outcomes and staff performance.
• Foster an environment of collaboration, communication, and accountability among the ED team, promoting professional development and continuous improvement.

• Current RN license in good standing with the state licensing board.
• Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) required.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in emergency nursing, with at least 1 year in a supervisory or leadership role.
• Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications required.
