Willdan Financial Services (WFS), is seeking a Financial Analyst II for the Orlando, FL office. WFS is a growing national consulting firm that provides financial and economic consulting services to cities and other local governments. Essential Duties and Responsibilities The selected individual will primarily work independently with limited supervision and general guidance senior staff in one or more of the following areas: (i) dynamic financial modeling for water and wastewater utility clients; (ii) user fee and cost allocation plan updates; (iii) advanced customer data analysis, and (iv) revenue projections and enhancement studies. Key Responsibilities
- Perform most tasks independently under limited supervision of the Senior Analyst and/or Project Manager(s) on a variety of on-going projects..
- Interact with external clients (such as members of the public and other government agencies).
- Day-to-day analysis and functions related to specific tasks and the project to which they are assigned.
- Gather and validate data and information from various sources and analyze collected data and reporting findings to senior staff.
- Prepare advanced spreadsheet analyses, dynamic financial modeling, prepare professional reports, and create PowerPoint presentations.
- Additional duties and responsibilities may be assigned by supervisor as business needs dictate.
Job Requirements / Qualifications:
- B.A. or B.S. in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Urban Planning, or Public Administration.
- 2 or more years of relevant financial experience (preferably in a government agency or government consulting firm).
- Prior knowledge and experience with water/utility or local public government industry clients is a plus, but not required.
- Ability to prioritize multiple projects and tasks to ensure timely delivery of high-quality deliverables.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate with a wide range of stakeholders while delivering excellent customer service in a highly dynamic growth environment.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast paced, evolving, entrepreneurial work environment.
- Competent in Microsoft Office Products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook), and web-based information sources. In particular, developing and understanding models and complex spreadsheets in Excel.
- Ability to read, analyze and interpret government regulations, professional journals, industry technical publications and technical manuals or instructions.
- Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions and percentages.
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
- Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract or concrete variables.
- Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
- Capable of presenting information and responding to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
- Excellent information management, time management, and communication skills.
