Carter Machinery Company, the authorized Caterpillar dealer serving Virginia, West Virginia, Maryland, Delaware and Washington D.C. is hiring a Sales Engineer II in Manassas, Virginia. The Sales Engineer II is responsible for the sale of new Caterpillar generator sets with ancillary equipment such as weatherproof enclosures, fuel tanks, and automatic transfer switches. The individual in this role will have overall management responsibility for the sales process from design stage to final quote. Priority is the overall sales growth and the development of strong trusting relationships with consulting engineers, contractors, and end-users within the assigned territory. Seeking candidates with a minimum five years sales or project management experience in electric power generation or related field. Mechanical or Electrical Engineering Degree preferred.

Physical requirements must be met for the Sales Engineer II job, including regularly being required to stand; walk and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee may occasionally lift and /or move up to 20 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision and ability to adjust focus.
