As a Continuous Improvement Associate at Kaman Precision Products in Middletown, CT, you will be a key part of our outstanding Industrial Engineering team. We are looking for candidates who embody our core values: Respect, Excellence, Accountability, Creativity, and Honor.

Work under the general direction of the Sr Industrial Engineer to achieve Kaman Precision Products goals by providing support to office and shop process owners through facilitation of continuous improvement activities using lean principals and quality tools. Primary responsibilities include planning and assisting in lean events and documentation of Performance Improvement Engineering (PIE) activities (events, metrics, plans, etc) and results. Specific duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Communicate and drive the overall CI KPP new strategy to Sr Industrial Engineer for communication to the Director of Operations.

Works in collaboration with employees in shop and administrative functional areas to coordinate, facilitate, and conduct lean events at all Precision Products locations. Complete studies on current operational processes to analyze operational efficiency, line performance to develop new improvement opportunities and ideas. Execute Plans for lean workshop events by assisting Sr Industrial Engineer in the notification of team members and participation during kickoff meetings. Assist with the support of implementing Kaizen, Six Sigma, and Lean Manufacturing projects for improvement.

Assist in creating new or editing existing training materials (Lean 101, Lean 201) covering basic and advanced lean, quality tools and classes and developing of performance standards & metrics for the implementation of any analyses and reporting processes for monitoring of operational performance.

Establish and maintain effective communication with all applicable team members of lessons learned, information, and best practices as directed by the Continuous Improvement team for read across all facilities

Requirements:

Strong knowledge of all Microsoft Office tools with emphasis on excel and presentation application software as well as familiarity with MRP type systems.

Must be fluent in continuous improvement techniques and possess fluent oral and written communication skills.

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing or related field with 0-3 years of experience in an aerospace or high technology manufacturing environment with at least 0-3 years of continuous improvement background/exposure including facilitation skills to lead groups or teams.
