Job Summary

The High School Program Specialist is responsible for overseeing the planning, implementation, and compliance of the National School Lunch Program (NSLP) within the Maricopa County Community College District (MCCCD). This position also manages food service procurement in accordance with federal, state, and local regulations, ensuring cost-effective, ethical, and compliant
acquisition of goods and services. The role serves as a liaison between college campuses, state agencies, vendors, and internal departments.

Essential Functions

25% Maintain accurate records and reporting for meal claims, income eligibility, audits, and civil rights compliance. Manage all procurement activities related to food service operations, including vendor selection, contract negotiation, bid processes, and purchasing in compliance with USDA regulations (7 CFR Part 210).

20% Collaborate with MCCCD Purchasing Department to ensure alignment with district procurement policies and state regulations for all purchases.

15% Maintain procurement documentation and ensure audit readiness.

15% Monitor vendor performance and address non-compliance or service issues.

15% Ensure district-wide compliance with USDA and ADE (Arizona Department of Education) Child Nutrition Program requirements.

10% Implement, and monitor NSLP policies and procedures for participating MCCCD campuses; other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED and two (2) years of administrative office support or experience providing administrative coordination of programs or activities.

OR

Associate's degree or higher in any discipline from a regionally accredited institution.

Desired Qualifications

A. Experience in the National School Lunch program.
B. Experience with the bidding process for service or vendors.
C. Experience with budget codes and/or preparing requisitions.
D. Experience with (online systems, i.e. Google Suite, CRM, SIS, Canvas, etc.)

Special Working Conditions

  • Will be required to travel or be assigned to all GateWay locations
  • May require some evenings or weekends
  • May require prolonged periods of viewing a computer screen
  • May be required to lift or carry up to #25 lbs
  • MCCCD does not sponsor individuals for any type of work visas
