The Team: The Advertising, Marketing, Standards and Practices, and E-Commerce Legal team advises on all of Mattel's consumer facing assets, e.g., advertising assets, packaging compliance, marketing promotions, social media accounts, as well as on the production and distribution of all original content and other entertainment assets distributed in any media (e.g., television, streaming, and digital), including, but not limited to, short-form videos, traditional long-form content, feature films, product and mobile apps, digital games, licensed partnerships activity and products to ensure compliance with regulations related to advertising and marketing and industry standards. The team also leads compliance of and regulatory support for Mattel's e-commerce platform(s) and websites. Expect a dynamic and fast-faced role where you get to make decisions that impact the foundation of this team. The Opportunity: Mattel is seeking a motivated, passionate, collaborative and driven Associate Paralegal to advise on regulatory compliance issues related to advertising, marketing, and packaging across Mattel's portfolio of brands. The ideal candidate will have experience in the legal review of advertising and marketing assets targeting children, and will be able to build and foster trusting relationships with creative partners, handling all matters with diplomacy in an environment of changing technological and regulatory infrastructure, short turnaround times, and strict deadlines. What Your Impact Will Be: * Work closely with colleagues, manager, and/or supervising attorney(s) to review and advise on the following, as may be assigned, to ensure compliance with advertising and marketing laws, COPPA, and any other applicable laws and regulations domestically and internationally, any self-regulatory guidelines (e.g., CARU), as well as industry best practices and internal standards: - Advertisement assets, marketing campaigns, and promotions (e.g., television commercials, digital ads, influencer initiatives, sweepstakes/contests/giveaways, branded websites, and in-store signage); and - Entertainment content (e.g., short-form/digital content, episodic programming, feature-length films, mobile apps and games, and products and partnerships), as may be delegated by the manager and/or supervising attorney(s), * Position involves daily and direct contact with internal clients, colleagues, manager, and supervising attorney(s). * Help foster good relationships with all departments within the company.
