ABOUT YOUR ROLE

The Loan Syndications Analyst will support the Head of Loan Syndications with purchase and sale activities across the Bank's commercial loan portfolio. The Loan Syndications Analyst will perform critical functions to support the marketing, origination, execution, and ongoing servicing of OFB led syndications. This role will help to identify purchased loan opportunities consistent with the Bank's credit risk appetite, facilitate internal processes toward execution, and perform portfolio management and reporting responsibilities. Overall, this role is responsible for facilitating revenue and balance sheet growth with syndicated credit opportunities for key commercial banking relationships.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
1. Provide support for the execution and distribution of syndicated facilities, including coordinating borrower and bank group relationships to ensure sufficient capital is raised.
2. Coordinate development of marketing materials, such as confidential information memoranda and lender presentations, for OFB led syndications. Work directly with prospective lenders to market transactions and assist them with their due diligence processes. Launch and manage the syndication data rooms.
3. Drive revenue generation and balance sheet growth by advising OFB commercial bankers and their borrowers on the status of the market, structure, pricing, and syndication strategies for best execution.
4. Identify purchased loan opportunities to grow the Bank's commercial loan portfolio consistent with loan policy and credit risk appetite. Prepare internal screening memos and manage internal workflows to ensure timely credit underwriting and onboarding. Monitor performance and covenant compliance post-close and assist in annual loan reviews.
5. Work with external legal counsel to ensure legal documentation is consistent with credit underwriting and acceptable to both the borrower and bank group.
6. Maintain strong relationships with bank partners for both buy and sell opportunities. Properly manage relationships to ensure the Bank understands the current credit appetite and strategic focus of bank partners.
7. Cultivate relationships across Bank platform to enhance visibility and value proposition of Bank's syndication function.
8. Involvement in special projects as needed.
Requirements
WHAT WE EXPECT OF YOU


  • Working knowledge of commercial lending process including demonstrated credit evaluation, loan structuring, and underwriting ability
  • Knowledge of credit approval policy and process with the ability to accurately interpret lending policy and apply same to the management of the portfolio.
  • Working knowledge and understanding of applicable banking regulations and laws governing commercial lending.
  • Knowledge of qualitative portfolio analytics and metrics with the ability to utilize automated and analytical tools and techniques.
  • Demonstrated professionalism and client management skills
  • Ability to engage with clients on credit related matters.
  • Ability to work under pressure and tight deadlines, as well as multi-task without direct day to day supervision.
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Strong written and oral communications skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team environment.
  • Highly energized team player with considerable initiative, positive attitude, and ability to expand skill set.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office with specific capability in Word, Excel, and Powerpoint.



YOUR QUALIFICATIONS


  • Bachelors degree in related field or equivalent work experience.
  • 5 years' commercial credit experience. Loan syndications or capital markets experience preferred.


INTERNAL AND EXTERNAL CONTACTS


  • Frequent and continual divisional and interdivisional contacts at all levels.
  • Extensive external contacts with regarding the Bank's systems and services partners.
  • Internal customer contact in response to inquiries or service issues.


WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Office environment. Ability to operate a computer. Ability to communicate in order to exchange simple to complex information with individuals and groups. Ability to travel throughout Bank footprint.
