Project Engineer, Controls (Level 2)
Location: Fort Lauderdale, WA Employment Type: Full-Time Travel: Up to 25% (Domestic & Global) Compensation: $90,000 - $120,000 annually (DOE) + billable field work + annual performance bonus Relocation Assistance: Available Company: MSHS Pacific Power Group MSHS Pacific Power Group is seeking a skilled and motivated Project Engineer, Controls (Level 2) to join our dynamic team in Kent, Washington. In this role, you'll lead the execution of complex control system retrofit projects-from concept through commissioning-focusing on Woodward and other programmable logic controllers (PLCs), HMI systems, and auxiliary control systems. This position combines technical depth, project leadership, and customer interaction. You'll work closely with cross-functional teams and clients to deliver high-quality, engineered solutions across marine, power generation, and industrial markets.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the sales process through requirements gathering, scope definition, estimating, and quote development
- Manage the full project lifecycle: BOM creation, mechanical/electrical design, drawings, manuals, and documentation
- Provide in-house technical support to sales, service teams, and customers
- Lead on-site field service and commissioning activities globally
- Execute software development and system integration for PLC, HMI, SCADA, and power management solutions
- Deliver training and support for customers and internal stakeholders
- Maintain focus on quality, safety, and documentation throughout the project
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field and 3+ years of relevant experience,
OR 7+ years of practical experience in power generation, automation, or related industries - Proficiency with AutoCAD, SolidWorks, and Microsoft Office Suite
- Experience with PLC/HMI/SCADA programming, Woodward GAP, Function Block, and ladder logic
- Familiarity with marine propulsion and power management systems-preferred
- Excellent problem-solving, documentation, and communication skills
- Fluent in English; Spanish is a plus
- Valid U.S. Driver's License and Passport
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary Range: $90,000 - $120,000 per year, based on skills and experience
