*Description*
Customer Service Representative Summary: Provide telephone and administrative coverage for the patient support functions related to the centralized business office for organization physician practices. Answer telephone calls and assists patients with billing inquiries and payments. * Understands Patient Accounts/Customer Service process including HIPAA policy regarding patient confidentiality guidelines. * Communicates effectively with patients/public, co-workers, physicians and or their offices, and other office personnel using verbal, nonverbal and written communication skills. * Handles inbound telephone inquiries regarding patient accounts in compliance with the CMG policies. * Recognizes situations, which necessitate supervision and guidance, seeks appropriate resources after complete review of issue when all resources are executed. * Demonstrates good judgment when handling financial discussions with patients, maintaining a professional and confidential environment. * Consults and works collaboratively with Supervisors, Co-workers, Managers, Department Director, and other office personnel, effectively performing assigned task timely and accurately. * Promotes positive public relations for the physician CBO and clinics adhering to desired behaviors. * Attends in services and other meetings as required to enhance professional growth and development. *Successfully manage high volume inbound telephone calls and route accordingly. *Receive and record changes in patient information. *Presents financial assistance application or payment plan options as applicable to ensure timely resolution of account balance. *Demonstrates promptness in reporting for and completing work-ensuring follow-through on assigned tasks. *Demonstrates appropriate utilization of resources, i.e., equipment and supplies. *Does not promote or participate in solicitation during working hours within the department. *Collects payment of account balance and utilizes online banking application to post patient credit card phone payments. *Assist with sorting and distributing mail for the CBO. *Assist with AR related items and perform other duties as assigned or requested. *Answers calls promptly and demonstrates a professional and positive demeanor to serve our patients as point of contact for the CBO. *Pay and Benefits* The pay range for this position is $17.00 - $18.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
