Description

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Tax Manager to join our dynamic finance team. Reporting to the Vice President, Corporate Controller, the ideal candidate will have a strong background in overall administration, planning, compliance, tax preparation, advanced tax planning structuring, and reporting. This role will play a critical part in ensuring the company's tax strategy aligns with our business goals while maintaining compliance with federal, state, tax regulations and industry best practices.

Key Responsibilities:



  • Oversee and manage the preparation and filing of federal, state, tax returns for the organization, ensuring timely and accurate submissions - including R&D tax credit.
  • Develop and implement tax strategies including thorough analysis of tax implications related to property acquisitions, dispositions, leasing and manufacturing operations.
  • Prepare detailed tax reports and analyses, presenting findings to senior management and stakeholders to aid in decision-making.
  • Write supporting tax notes for quarterly/annual financials.
  • Prepare quarterly tax provisions and process required tax journal entries and account reconciliations.
  • Coordinate responses to tax audits and notices, providing documentation and support as required.
  • Keep up to date on regulatory changes and interpret their implications on the company's operations, advising management on necessary adjustments and making sure that the company is always compliant with State and Federal Law.
  • Work cooperatively with other departments, including finance, legal, and outside CPA firms to ensure seamless integration of tax considerations into business processes.
  • Oversee all excise tax filings including SCET tax and ensure that required documentation for those processes is adequate and maintained.
  • Exhibit strong analytical ability, critical thinking capacity, and diligently perform assigned tasks with the highest degree of professionalism and integrity.


Qualifications:



  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, Law or other related degrees are ideal. Master's degree is preferred.
  • Active Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation is preferred.
  • A minimum of 7 years of relevant tax experience is required.
  • Experience in public accounting is preferred.
  • Experience in oil/gas or Petro chemical industry is preferred.
