Automation Test Engineer III
The Automation Test Engineer III develops and implements automated tests that ensure product quality and efficiency. The incumbent applies advance knowledge of QA practices, methodologies, and techniques to test and assure all quality standards have been met. The incumbent will utilize testing tools, test management solutions and data management approaches to support continuous testing. This role contributes to the development of test automation frameworks and optimization of the existing frameworks as per the latest changes and recommends quality improvement initiatives for future application/project releases. The Automation Test Engineer III will regularly coach and mentor less experienced team members. Position Responsibilities Design and Methodology
- Designs the overall testing plan for projects.
- Leads sophisticated defect detection, problem solving and troubleshooting related to project development.
- Performs in a lead capacity role within the team in making decisions related to quality.
- Designs and develops test automation scripts at scale.
- Research issues in software through testing.
- Develops test automation frameworks for Web, Mobile - API.
- Investigates and implements new tools and methods.
- Maintains and extends existing build tools.
- Defines test strategy/test approach at project level.
- Contributes to code reviews, with special emphasis on testability.
- Introduces/suggests new processes and techniques.
- Identifies opportunities for automation within software processes.
- Designs and executes QA tests using scripts that automatically test functionality.
- Designs test cases to exercise new product features. Validate that requirements and bug fixes meet acceptance criteria.
- Automates new and existing test cases for Web, Mobile - API.
- Implements test strategy/test plan.
- Implements contentious testing using build tools like Jenkins.
- Identifies bugs and quality issues in development, service, or business processes.
- Installs applications including build and testing tools.
Technical Consulting
- Collaborates with other business units to understand how automation can improve workflow.
- Gathers requirements from clients, customers, or end-users to develop the best test automation solutions.
- Influences team to better Identify any new features that are testable.
- Understands testing across multiple concurrent work streams.
- Contributes to best practices and standards put in place by the Testing Center of Excellence (TCOE).
- Understands dependency between teams.
- Collaborates with the project teams to develop solutions.
- Collaborates with quality engineering on testing approach, strategy, and guidelines.
Risk Management
Understands Risk Management in Testing including:
- Risk Mitigation.
- Risk Identification.
- Risk Impact Analysis.
- Understands and implements quality compliance and governance.
Planning - Organizing - Follows best practices and standards put in place by the Testing Center of Excellence (TCOE).
- Participates in Agile planning activities.
- Engages TCOE to update standard playbooks.
Administration/Support
- Tracks time weekly.
- Reports to test management.
- Participates in testing meetings.
- Completes required trainings.
Position Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering or a technology related field or High School Diploma or GED and 10 years Progressive Relevant experience
- ISTQB: Certified Tester Test Automation Engineer (CT-TAE) preferred
- 5 years of overall technology experience
- 4 years of in test automation engineering
- 4 years of web, API and/or mobile experience
- 4 years of selenium (or similar robust toolkit) testing experience
- 3 years of hands-on experience in quality assurance work with web-based applications
- 3 years of experience testing web/eCommerce applications constructed using modern web frameworks such as React, node, typescript, and related technologies
- ISTQB: Certified Tester Test Automation Engineer (CT-TAE) preferred
- This position is not eligible for sponsorship. Must have indefinite employment authorization.
Work Best Category: Category C - Days in the office will either be designated days or will vary week to week from 2-5 days
Hours: 8:00am - 5:00pm Monday - Friday
