Dairy Farmers of America (DFA), Dairy Brands has an opening for a Sr. Financial Analyst at our Corporate Office Dallas, TX. General Purpose Assume responsibility for and/or support the financial planning and forecasting process for the DFA Dairy Brands division. Support the day-to-day financial activities of the finance department, including those of a complex nature, as related to financial reporting, budgeting and month-end close duties, expense analysis, operational metrics, and forecasting activities. Perform operational accounting activities such as operating expense budgeting, internal controls, and fixed assets as assigned. Partner with operations areas to understand financial impacts and to ensure accurate, timely, and meaningful reporting and analysis. Lead financial projects and/or processes. Function as a resource for colleagues with less experience. Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Perform financial forecasting, reporting, and operational metrics tracking
- Evaluate financial performance by comparing and analyzing actual results with plans and forecasts
- Lead and/or support the quarterly/annual budget, forecast, and variance analysis process
- Provide analysis of cost savings initiatives and ROI capital projects
- Partner with division/group/plant manager to measure and drive financial results
- Review and consolidate fixed and variable costs, KPI reports, and productivity initiatives
- Analyze financial data and create financial models for decision support
- Analyze key business performance metrics (revenue, net price, volume mix and management, customer margins, trade spend) and pro-actively identify performance improvement opportunities. This would include financial support to ensure customer pricing proposals balance the market and financial needs of the business
- Resolve accounting discrepancies and irregularities
- Prepare and analyze reports for the business unit and ensure that all business unit financial reporting is accurate according to currently accepted financial practices. Work closely with the accounting team to ensure accurate financial reporting
- Participate in developing the annual operating budget
- Participate on cross-functional teams and collaborate with others to complete financial activities
- Identify process improvements, including the creation of standard and ad-hoc reports, tools, and dashboards; increase productivity by developing automated reporting/forecasting tools
- Leverage systems, reports, data, and excel to build analytical models and identify business drivers

- Undergraduate degree in business, accounting, finance, or related curriculum (or equivalent combination of experience and education)
- 5 to 8 years of progressive experience in finance, accounting, or related discipline
- Certification and/or License - may be required during course of employment
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Strong knowledge of the principles and practices of financial planning and analysis and general accounting
- Solid knowledge of and skill with Microsoft Office Suite and company computer systems
- Strong skill in analytical thinking and problem solving
