RS Avionics_Elec Tech IVin GAC Palm Beach Unique Skills: Must be available to work off shift as member of an avionics install team. Position is posted for 2nd shift. Technical Skills: Read and interpret wiring diagrams, schematics, blueprints, and other technical data. Install and route wire harnesses, perform basic terminations (crimp and solder), perform advanced terminations (Quadrex/Coax) and assemble/dis-assemble connectors. perform ring outs, resistance, and voltage checks. Be proficient in electrical and avionics systems troubleshooting. Perform avionics system operational checks and return to service checks on newly installed avionics electrical systems. Experience using various avionics test equipment such as IFR 6000, IFR 4000 and air data test equipment. Advanced knowledge of aircraft avionics and electrical systems (Navigation, Communications, Integrated Modular Avionics). Leadership: Manage and delegate tasks to Jr. Technicians. Must be self-directed. Read, follow, and complete daily written turnovers. Education and Experience Requirements
High School Diploma or GED required. Six (6) years experience in an avionics/electrical career field; or two (2) years of accredited schooling in aviation electronics and four (4) years related experience. A & P license, FCC license or NCATT certification preferred.
Position Purpose:
Provides leadership, technical expertise and guidance while performing various operational, functional tests and repairs of avionics/electronic, aircraft equipment and systems to ensure a defect free aircraft. Provides superior technical expertise in testing, troubleshooting and repairing system discrepancies to ensure minimum schedule impact. Demonstrates technical expertise and leadership by defining and implementing process changes to reduce cost and meet schedule without compromising Safety or Quality. Demonstrates the knowledge and leadership skills required. to fill in for the team leader thus ensuring that the company goals of Safety and Quality are enforced all times while adhering to daily work plans to maintain schedule requirements.
