Job Description

Job Summary

The Education Programs Administrator is responsible for the ongoing administration of the Phase 1 Year 2 Sidney Kimmel Medical College (SKMC) curriculum. This position works collaboratively with the Phase 1 Director, Block Directors, 12 Thread Directors, specialty content leaders, faculty lecturers, and small group leaders to ensure optimal delivery of these integrated courses throughout the year. This role requires support of all operational elements for the Year 2 curricular programs. The Education Programs Administrator is the sole point of contact for every aspect of the SKMC curriculum for students in their second year of medical school.

Essential Functions

  • Interacts with co-workers, visitors, and other staff consistent with the values of Jefferson.
  • Manage successful implementation and execution of the curricular year and all its components, including complex and high-level scheduling, room reservations, curricular calendar maintenance, providing technology support, tracking student participation and absences, task completion, program evaluations, and administrative duties (such as communication, meeting scheduling, and event arrangement).
  • Communicate with SKMC faculty regarding deadlines and track the successful completion of all action items, escalating issues or decisions when necessary.
  • Ensure accurate and timely content on the Canvas learning management system, coordinate and manage content uploads, and control leadership/faculty/staff user access.
  • Possess a significant understanding and interpretation of the entire SKMC curriculum to support faculty and administrative processes effectively.
  • Manage faculty recruitment for each individual course session including lectures, labs, team-based learning, and patient panel sessions.
  • Independently create and maintain detailed documentation of all continuous quality improvement measures for the SKMC curriculum annually. Contribute extremely detailed and accurate documentation for SKMC accreditation.
  • Work closely and communicate regularly with SKMC leadership, students, staff, and faculty; maintain accurate databases of documents, timelines, policies, and procedures.
  • During periods when students are not in session, complete assigned tasks and projects that support ongoing team needs and enhance the quality of the curriculum.

Competencies (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required):

  • Must have outstanding organizational and written and oral communication skills.
  • Must have outstanding initiative and be able to problem-solve, adapt, and independently manage competing deadlines and priorities.
  • High-level experience with MS Office Suite, Adobe Acrobat Pro, Zoom, learning management systems and databases, and interactive curricular and survey platforms (Nearpod, Qualtrics).

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:

Education:

Bachelor's degree required. Masters preferred.

AND

Experience:

A minimum of 5 years prior related experience; medical education experience preferred.
