Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our Medical/Surgical unit, providing high-quality, patient-centered care. This role requires strong clinical skills in IV insertion, phlebotomy, and conscious sedation, along with the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment. The position is a temporary coverage assignment for FMLA/LOA and involves working three 12.5-hour shifts per week, including alternating weekends.

Responsibilities:

• Deliver direct patient care in accordance with nursing standards and hospital policies
• Perform IV insertion, phlebotomy, and conscious sedation as require
• Monitor, assess, and document patient conditions and progress
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to implement and evaluate care plans
• Ensure patient safety and comfort while maintaining a high standard of care
• Respond promptly to emergencies and participate in code situations
• Accurately complete documentation and submit monthly schedule requests as required

Required Qualifications:

• Valid New York State RN License (Primary Source Verification required)
• American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• American Heart Association (AHA) Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification - required for Queens location only
• Minimum of two years' experience in a Medical/Surgical setting
• Proficiency in IV insertion, phlebotomy, and conscious sedation procedures

Schedule:

• 3 shifts per week (8:00 AM - 8:30 PM)
• Every other weekend required
• Monthly schedule submission required
