Warren State Hospital is seeking a hardworking, dependable Clerical Assistant 2 to provide clerical support to our Social Services Department. This position will be assisting with admissions and Community Service Plans, as well as the ongoing support for the supervisor, manager, and social workers at our facility. DESCRIPTION OF WORK

The Clerical Assistant 2 in this position will facilitate communications with community representatives, families, visitors, individuals, and other staff with courtesy, respect and patience. Processes patient admissions by assembling a new Medical Record which involves inputting information into the computerized patient database, assigning the individual a patient number, assembling the record, creating the patient ID card (utilizing the Addressograph and electronic stamping machine), stamping all the required forms provided by the Medical Records Department and inserting the forms in their proper location throughout the Medical Record itself. Helps in facilitating the actual admission by greeting the transporting agency personnel upon arrival and contacting the admitting social worker and the security office.
Additional duties include operating the electronic phone system by receiving and routing phone calls, paging staff, taking messages and delivering messages to the appropriate staff in a timely and confidential manner. Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week.
- Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday-Friday with a 30-minute lunch.
- Travel and overtime as needed.

- Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $35,306 (before taxes).

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- Six months as a Clerical Assistant 1 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
- Graduation from high school; or
- An equivalent combination of experience and training.
Other Requirements:

- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
Legal Requirements:
- This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act.
- Under the Act, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports, including but not limited to, PA State Police and FBI clearance.
- A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination.
