Summary
Responsible for optimizing patient care by promoting rational, safe, and cost-effective drug therapy. Does this position require Patient Care? No Essential Functions -Performs all duties associated with the Registered Pharmacist position within the scope of licensure. -Initiates and documents pharmacist interventions to change prescribing where required. -Participates in patient care rounds as appropriate. -Contributes to and participates in the departmental medication use evaluation plan, including but not limited to CMI (Clinical Management Initiatives). -Reviews current medical/pharmacy literature regularly for recent developments in disease state therapeutics as well as new product development. -Provides health professionals with drug information and/or references. Education Doctor of Pharmacy Pharmacy required Can this role accept experience in lieu of a degree? No Licenses and Credentials Pharmacist [State License] - Generic - HR Only required Experience Pharmacy experience 0-1 year preferred and Experience with computer word processing required and Some experience with spreadsheets or databases and other computer software preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities - Knowledge of pharmacy information systems, automated dispensing technology and personal computers. - Strong interpersonal skills. - Strong communication skills.
