Astrion has an exciting opportunity for an Instrumentation Engineer for the Redstone Test and Engineering Support (RTES) Contract, supporting the IDAP Division.

JOB DETAILS

LOCATION: Redstone Arsenal, AL

JOB STATUS: Full-time

TRAVEL: ~10%

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS

  • Engineering degree from an ABET-accredited school or a degree in an applicable technical specialty.
  • 10+ years' experience in engineering design, fabrication, research, and/or testing of instrumentation sensors and data collection.
  • Experience in leading teams during technical design and providing strategic advice to project staff. Training less experienced engineers in technical skills, unit cohesion, and collaboration.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance (U.S. Citizenship is required for all applicants)

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS

  • Experience in leading teams during technical design and providing strategic advice to project staff.
  • Training less experienced engineers in technical skills, unit cohesion, and collaboration.
  • Experience initiating and developing requirements for DoD project execution.
  • Ability to read and create electrical schematics.
  • Ability to create or modify Pulse Code Modulation (PCM) data streams.
  • Working knowledge of programming numerical systems and how to interface with, and record data from, military aviation platforms.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Serve as a lead engineer in the field of airborne instrumentation systems integration for the U.S. Army Test & Evaluation Command, Redstone Test Center.
  • Train and mentor less experienced engineers, fostering professional growth and development.
  • Responsible for planning, execution, real-time data quality monitoring, data analysis, and reporting for developmental and/or operational tests of system integrations on various aviation weapon system platforms.
  • Analyze data and prepare detailed reports for developmental and operational tests. Document flight operations and contribute to flight test developments.
  • Contributing to and documenting flight operations and flight test developments.
