opportunity with Yoh's client located in Los Gatos, CA
Top Skills Should You Possess:
- Minimum of three (3) years of progressively responsible and directly-related work experience, preferably in Pediatrics
What You'll Be Doing:
- Independently provide general education and nursing care to patients via telephone or in person
- Respond to and resolve patient/family questions and needs
- Triage and schedule patients as appropriate, ensuring appointment preferences are given to patients in emergency situations
- Document clinical information, including patient phone calls and maintain accurate and complete patient documentation according to medical profession standards
- Accurately document all patient encounter, phone triage, test results and office visits
- Observe and/or record and report patient's condition and reaction to drugs and treatments to clinicians
- Act as a liaison, coordinate and integrate service for patients by continually collaborating with physician(s)
- Communicate the appropriate referral choice to community physicians
- Schedule: M-F, 8:15am - 5:15pm
What You Need to Bring to the Table:
- Active and unrestricted California RN license
- Associates Degree in Nursing from an accredited College or University; Bachelors Degree in Nursing preferred
- Current CPR certification
- Minimum of three (3) years of progressively responsible and directly-related work experience, preferably in Pediatrics
- Experience in Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems; EPIC preferred
- Knowledge of professional nursing theory, regulations and practices to give and evaluate patient care
- Knowledge of common safety hazards and precautions to establish/maintain a safe work environment
- Knowledge of medical chart reporting and records
- Knowledge of computer systems and software used in functional area
- Skill in applying and modifying the principles, methods and techniques of professional nursing to provide ongoing patient care
- Ability to educate patients and/or families as to the nature of disease and to provide instruction on proper care and treatment
- Ability to perform standard clinical procedures according to established protocols
- Ability to demonstrate customer service skills in interactions with all patients, families and staff, including high volume and stressful situations
- Ability to plan, organize, prioritize, work independently and meet deadlines
