This position is location at DLO's Central Reference Lab & Corporate Headquarters location in Oklahoma City, OK. At DLO, we offer competitive wages, excellent benefits, and opportunity for advancement. This position is eligible for a Sign-On Bonus/Relocation Bonus for the right candidate.

Essential Functions of Employment with DLO:

Main Duties: The Laboratory Manager has the overall responsibility for the planning, coordination, evaluation, and supervision of all technical and/or operational activities and staff members in the laboratory. Responsible for performing duties so as to operate the lab with the highest quality safety and integrity, and in an efficient, economical and businesslike manner are of utmost importance.

Required Knowledge: In depth laboratory knowledge, including Quality Assurance/Management and QC.

Required Experience: Minimum of 8 years laboratory experience with at least 4 years of direct supervisory experience in the clinical or anatomical pathology laboratory.

Special Requirements:

  • Must have flexibility to work nights and weekends as required to support technical operations and engage staff.
  • Proven leadership and problem-solving skills.
  • Must be detail-oriented, have the ability to work independently, establish work priorities and to handle several tasks simultaneously for maximum department efficiency.
  • Interpersonal and communication skills necessary to deal courteously and effectively with employees, co-workers and clients.
  • Ability to deal with client information in a confidential manner.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Outlook) and Laboratory Information Systems.

Physical and Mental Requirements:

  • The normal performance of duties may require lifting and carrying objects: Objects 1 to 10 pounds are lifted and carried frequently; objects 11 to 25 pounds are lifted and carried occasionally; objects 36 to 50 pounds are seldom lifted or carried and objects over 50 pounds are not to be lifted or carried without assistance.
  • Ability tosit or stand forlong periods of time.
  • May be required to use a wide variety of manual and automated pipettes and laboratory instruments and apparatuses all of whichdemand significant manualdexterity.
