JOB SUMMARY

We are seeking a growth-focused, entrepreneurial lead to manage and grow (with P&L accountability) a significant NASA contract. This key leadership position demands a results-driven professional with deep knowledge of NASA and KSC operations and a strong background in both program execution and growth development. The ideal candidate should excel in navigating federal systems, fostering stakeholder relationships, and steering teams towards achieving ambitious goals. A unique opportunity for those passionate about leading impactful NASA contracts from transition through execution.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • P&L Ownership: Has full P&L ownership of contract. Sets annual budget and financial goals (in coordination with Division GM), to include revenue, profit, growth, and cash flow
  • Delivery: Responsible and accountable for the successful delivery of Astrion's services to our customers. As the Program Director, ensures successful contract execution for the programs in the portfolio, meeting or exceeding all cost, schedule and performance objectives. Proactively identifies and manages risk and opportunities.
  • Leadership: Leads the KSC team to successful program execution and growth in addition to providing overall Astrion enterprise leadership. Responsible for people management, including performance management, succession planning, and career development.
  • Strategy: In concert with the Space Business Development Executives, implements and communicates the strategic direction of the Civil Space portfolio.
  • Client Management: Builds and maintains key client relationships to support growth, delivery excellence, and problem resolution.
  • Growth: Builds and executes growth plan and support new business pipeline that includes both on-contract growth (expanding current program) and new contract pursuits, in coordination with the Business Development Executive.
  • Partner Management: Builds and maintains a set of partner relationships to enhance Astrion's ability to pursue and deliver professional services to NASA customer base.
  • Market Analysis: Maintains an in depth understanding of the mission, operating environment, business and technology trends, and acquisition landscape.
  • Continuous Improvement and Innovation: Implementation of best practice Program Management principles to achieve substantial continuous process improvements, efficiencies, and potential cost avoidance. Work with the Chief Innovation Office to identify and implement innovations.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS

  • Bachelor's degree required
  • 10+ years of industry-related experience
  • Active Secret security clearance
  • 15+ years working with NASA customers with both delivery and/or business growth responsibilities
  • Current active professional relationships with both NASA clients and partner firms supporting NASA
  • Demonstrated experience managing NASA contracts with full P&L responsibility.
  • Demonstrated knowledge in executing disciplined business development processes from new business opportunity identification to capture through proposal.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS

  • Master's degree in a technical, management, or related field.
  • PMP (Project Management Professional) certification or equivalent.
  • Experience with a broad range of NASA/DOD requirements and acquisition organizations.
  • Experience leading an organization, including translating overall enterprise goals into an executable strategy
  • Entrepreneurial team player who delivers results
  • Superior management skills; ability to influence and engage direct and indirect reports, peers and a broad range of external stakeholders
  • Exceptional written, oral, interpersonal, and presentation skills when delivering to broad range of audiences, including government officials
  • Demonstrated success leading winning pursuits of federal professional services contracts
  • Experience as a "player/coach" and passion for leading teams
  • Strong networking and relationship development skills
  • Comfortable operating in a growing environment and leading teams through change
  • Understanding of government contracting, including services contracts
  • Knowledge using the Shipley business acquisition model.
