Chair and Medical Director, Hospital Medicine - HealthAlliance-Clinton Hospital UMass Memorial Medical Group, in our Community Medical Group, is seeking a highly skilled and dynamic Medical Director and Chair of Hospital Medicine at HealthAlliance-Clinton Hospital. In this exciting leadership opportunity, you will lead our diverse team and initiatives to maintain HealthAlliance Hospital's great clinical outcomes, including state leading mortality rates, length of stay, and overall patient satisfaction. This position requires a clear focus of improving patient experience, with special attention to communication and overall care delivery. About our Department of Hospital Medicine: * Serve as the Medical Director and Chair of the Hospital Medicine Department at HealthAlliance, reporting directly to the Senior Vice President (SVP) and Chief Medical Officer (CMO). Provide leadership, guidance, and direction to a team of 20-25 physicians. Ensure the department operates efficiently, maintaining high standards of clinical care and patient safety. * This position offers a 50-50 balance between clinical duties and administrative responsibilities. As the Medical Director and Chair, you will oversee scheduling, physician performance, and day-to-day department management while maintaining direct involvement in patient care. * Lead recruitment efforts to attract and retain top-tier hospital medicine physicians. Manage onboarding, training, and professional development for both new hires and current team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning and mutual support. * Oversee peer review processes, performance evaluations, discipline, and conflict resolution, ensuring adherence to best practices, standards of care, and hospital policies. * HealthAlliance-Clinton Hospital is a top community hospital in the Northeast, known for its commitment to high-quality care and patient outcomes. With 8,000 annual discharges and 57,000 ED visits per year, we handle a robust patient volume. Our department typically sees an 17% admission rate and consistently achieves strong mortality scores and length of stay outcomes.
