The Primary Role
As Business Development Manager at Caldera, you are our market penetration. Using data-driven approaches to open doors to enterprise opportunities across our target segments in data centers, industrial power, and defense. You translate our engineering solutions capabilities into compelling value propositions that resonate with high-potential clients. Working nationally, you are the critical connection between our marketing intelligence and sales execution. You implement systematic business development processes that turn market research into qualified opportunities for our Sales VP . Your tech-forward approach leverages CRM and analytics platforms to identify patterns, track engagement, and create repeatable success. As we transform from traditional fabricator to engineered solutions provider, you are instrumental in positioning Caldera with the right enterprise customers at the right time.

Caldera is an industrial fabrication firm with production facilities across three states, in the midst of a strategic transformation from traditional fabrication to an engineered solutions provider. With 150 employees, we're building something scalable, world-class, and ready to lead in sectors like AI data centers, industrial power and equipment, and national defense. This comprehensive repositioning touches every aspect of our business. Our evolution demands a sophisticated market development approach that can introduce our capabilities to enterprise customers. We're seeking a Business Development Manager who can systematically open doors while we expand our capabilities, enhance our processes, and cultivate a performance culture that is magnetic for top talent.

You partner closely with our Sales VP and marketing team to implement systems that honor our industrial heritage while preparing us for enterprise relationships and growth.
The Scope
* Develop and execute a systematic approach to identify and qualify high-potential enterprise opportunities
* Travel nationally (80%) to establish relationships with decision-makers in target industries
* Create and implement data-driven business development processes that generate qualified leads
* Leverage marketing intelligence to identify patterns and trends for strategic opportunity development
* Build and maintain a robust pipeline of opportunities across all customer segments
* Utilize CRM systems to track engagements, analyze conversion patterns, and optimize approach
* Collaborate with engineering teams to translate technical capabilities into customer-focused value propositions
* Develop account-specific strategies for penetrating targeted organizations
* Represent Caldera at industry trade shows, conferences, and networking events
* Partner with marketing to create compelling materials that open doors to decision-makers
* Provide market intelligence feedback to inform product development and capability enhancements
* Track and report on business development metrics, continually refining approaches for maximum impact
The Compensation
Salary range: $80,000-$100,000 annual salary, paid bi-weekly. Plus significant commission structure tied to
qualified leads and closed business.

(increases with length of service), 11 paid holidays, and the option of a 4-day work week if preferred.
Job Requirements
The Key Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering, or related field
* 5+ years of business development or sales experience in industrial, manufacturing, or technical fields
* Proven track record of systematically developing new business relationships with enterprise clients
* Experience selling engineered solutions or technical products/services
* Strong understanding of industrial manufacturing, fabrication, or related technical fields is a plus
* Exceptional relationship-building skills with ability to connect at multiple levels of client organizations
* Data-driven approach to opportunity identification and qualification
* Proficiency with CRM systems and digital sales tools
* Excellent presentation and communication skills
* Comfort with frequent travel (80%) and ability to manage a national territory effectively
* Self-motivated with ability to work independently while following structured processes
* Experience supporting or participating in organizational transformation initiatives
