ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES (Minimum Requirements): Performs a variety of mechanical and electrical assembly operations to assemble intricate or large and expensive equipment, subassemblies involving a considerable number of parts, or units involving less precise requirements and parts. Has demonstrated proficiency in assembling the identified products on the Department Training Matrix per established Work Instructions, quality standards, or equivalent and continues to learn more as identified. Does fitting, aligning and adjustments to insure proper flow, layout and free action of movable parts and operating requirements. Products are standardized and/or methods prescribed. Capable of basic wiring and tubing. Uses a wide variety of assembly and test fixtures, and hand and power tools; recognizes defective parts; does unit testing as directed. Works from complicated assembly drawings and EWDs with guidance on major products, specifications, layouts, and standard operating procedures or methods. Work subject to in process and final inspection, check and test. Performs cutting, layout, brazing, tube bending and threading. May be assigned to provide guidance and check work of Assemblers of lower classification and Production Assistants. Observes all company safety rules. During production hours, uses assigned Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required. Involves heavy lifting, up to 50 pounds.
