Director Information Services Division: Compliance and Quality Assurance

40 Hours/Week

Monday - Friday, 8am-5pm

Onsite 5 days/week

Summary:

The Director, ISD Compliance & Quality Assurance is responsible for the oversight of all I.T. quality assurance and compliance aspects.

Responsibilities:

  1. Manage and execute policies and procedures which govern Akron Children's Hospital quality assurance and compliance programs.
  2. Evaluate adequacy of quality assurance standards and develop QA best practices to ensure all necessary practices, tools and templates are appropriately executed.
  3. Monitor and test policies and procedures to ensure they can result in compliance.
  4. Carry out risk assessments and compliance reviews to ensure policies and procedures are being followed.
  5. Recommend the initiation of investigative procedures in response to alleged violations of rules, regulations, policies, procedures, and the Code of Conduct.
  6. Conduct and document routine quality assurance audits to ensure that standards are being met.
  7. Evaluate audit findings and implement appropriate corrective actions.
  8. Collect, compile and analyze statistical quality data to identify trends, areas for improvement and to monitor corrective/preventative actions.
  9. Identify training needs and organize training interventions to meet quality standards.
  10. Assist with or leads management of contract negotiation and compliance.
  11. Ensure that the Akron Children's Hospital complies with existing and developing federal and state laws and regulations
  12. Project management duties fifty percent of the time.
  13. Other duties as required.

Other information:

Technical Expertise

  1. Extensive and deep technical and legal understanding
  2. Experience in reading and applying regulations in a technical context.
  3. Experience assisting in or leading contract negotiations is required.
  4. Experience working with all levels within an organization is required.
  5. Experience in healthcare is preferred.
  6. Proficiency in MS Office [Outlook, Excel, Word] or similar software is required.

Education and Experience

  1. Education: Bachelor's degree in related field is required; Master's degree is preferred.
  2. Experience with implementation of corrective action programs.
  3. Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office, QA applications and databases.
  4. Knowledge of tools, concepts and methodologies of QA.
  5. Solid experience in effective usage of data analysis tools and statistical analysis.
  6. Certification: Certified Compliance & Ethics Professional (CCEP) is preferred.
  7. Years of relevant experience: 8 to 10 years is preferred.
  8. Experience interacting with federal and state regulators is preferred.
  9. Must possess extensive leadership capacity to develop, influence, direct, and manage teams, as well as influence/liaise with regulatory authorities.
  10. Years of experience supervising: none.
