Actuarial Analyst - Rotational

Position Overview:This is a unique and dynamic opportunity to launch your actuarial career with Securian Financial through our comprehensive rotational program. Tailored for entry-level professionals, this program is designed to immerse you in the world of actuarial science, offering hands-on experience, the opportunity to network across various teams, and personalized coaching while contributing impactful work to propel business success.

As part of this rotational program, you'll have the chance to work across different actuarial functions, providing you with a well-rounded perspective and insight into product development, valuation, risk management, modeling, and other key areas. Your placement will consider both business need and your own professional interests, ensuring a meaningful and engaging experience. Upon completion of the program, you'll transition into a non-rotational position within Securian Financial, building on the foundation you've created and continuing your professional growth and development within the organization.

This position is part of the Actuarial Student Program at Securian Financial. The company provides support for exams through study time during business hours, onsite study space, exam expense reimbursement, and paid study materials.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Participate in rotational assignments across different actuarial functions. This may include placements in product development, valuation, risk management, modeling, or other actuarial opportunities.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to analyze data, develop models, and provide insights that support business decisions.

  • Engage in hands-on projects that drive business outcomes and contribute to the company's strategic goals.

  • Participate in mentorship and coaching from experienced actuaries and leaders within the organization.

  • Develop and enhance technical skills, including proficiency in actuarial software and tools.

  • Prepare and present findings and recommendations to stakeholders, honing your communication and presentation skills.

  • Work towards becoming an Associate or Fellow of the Society of Actuaries by completing actuarial exams.

Program Rotations:

  • Experiences are designed to provide a broad actuarial foundation through exposure to various aspects of actuarial work.

  • Each associate's prior experience, exam level, and personal preferences are considered when determining placements to provide the greatest potential for growth.

  • Assignments are generally available across a wide range of actuarial functions and various product lines in the company.

  • Typically, rotational associates rotate to new assignments every 18 months.

Qualifications:

  • Successful track record in a four-year degree program, preferably in actuarial science, mathematics, statistics, or a related field.

  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with the ability to think creatively.

  • Excellent communication abilities, including listening, business writing, and presentation skills.

  • Strong organizational skills to balance multiple priorities and accountabilities.

  • Preferably completed a minimum of two actuarial exams

#LI-hybrid **This position will be in a hybrid working arrangement.**

Our policy allows flexibility for the reality of business and personal schedules.

The estimated base pay range for this job is:

$52,500.00 - $97,500.00

Pay may vary depending on job-related factors and individual experience, skills, knowledge, etc. More information on base pay and incentive pay (if applicable) can be discussed with a with a member of the Securian Financial Talent Acquisition team.
