Responsibilities

The following statements are intended to describe the major elements and requirements of the position and should not be taken as an all inclusive list of responsibilities, duties and skills required of an individual assigned to this job. The Unit Secretary will perform clerical duties for the Rehabilitation Department such as answering telephones, greeting patients and preparing requisitions for outpatients. Other duties include, but are not limited to, filing patient reports, retrieving patient records for physicians or medical records. The Unit Secretary should demonstrate adequate knowledge of the usual terminology of treatment ordered in Rehabilitation. This person should demonstrate good telephone etiquette and be able to greet patients and other visitors in a polite and friendly manner. Maneuvers through reception area, as well as, outside storage area. Provides clerical support by utilizing telephone, computer, and office equipment.



Qualifications

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING
1. High School Diploma or GED required.
2. 1 year experience in Medical Office Receptionist work preferred
3. Knowledge of medical terminology is preferred.
4. Computer skills are required.
5. Ability to multi-task.
6. Excellent customer service and communication skills.
7. Bilingual (English and Spanish) is preferred.
