About the role:

The Principal Accountant, Corporate Acquisitions plays a key role in supporting acquisitions, resolving accounting and process challenges, and developing scalable solutions across a global organization. Reporting to the Associate Director of Corporate Accounting and Consolidations, the Principal Accountant will work on complex acquisition accounting, master data creation, system testing, and will support the consolidated close process.

This role requires strong core and technical accounting skills, a focus on continuous improvement, and a commitment to robust internal controls. The Principal Accountant must have excellent communication skills and will collaborate regularly with cross-functional and international teams. This position is part of a dynamic, high-performing team that supports the company's growth through both organic expansion and acquisitions.

Your responsibilities will include:



  • Participate in due diligence and planning meetings for each acquisition, understanding the activities of each site, and the related accounting implications
  • Participate in the purchase price accounting process for newly acquired entities
  • Partner with divisional finance teams to understand reporting needs and create master data for newly acquired entities, including entity codes and cost center creation, chart of accounts mapping, and system testing.
  • Perform functional currency assessments for each acquired entity.
  • Coordinate with divisional finance teams and with GBS to ensure timely data submissions
  • Liaise with external auditors to address review/audit questions and provide relevant responses and supporting documentation
  • Drive continuous improvement within our processes to gain efficiencies
  • Support an inclusive culture at BSC



Required qualifications:



  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting
  • Minimum 5 years of accounting experience
  • Experience collaborating with global teams
  • Applies US GAAP by conducting technical accounting research, interpreting guidance, and documenting conclusions.



Preferred qualifications:



  • Master's degree and/or CPA
  • Prior experience in a public accounting firm
  • Experience with SAP, Hyperion Financial Management, Tableau or Alteryx
  • Strong accounting and analytical skills
  • Attention to detail and data accuracy
  • Highly organized and capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
  • A continuous improvement, proactive and strategic thinking mindset
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills which provide the ability to establish and build working relationships with individuals throughout the organization

The anticipated compensation listed above and the value of core and optional employee benefits offered by Boston Scientific (BSC) - see www.bscbenefitsconnect.com--will vary based on actual location of the position and other pertinent factors considered in determining actual compensation for the role. Compensation will be commensurate with demonstrable level of experience and training, pertinent education including licensure and certifications, among other relevant business or organizational needs. At BSC, it is not typical for an individual to be hired near the bottom or top of the anticipated salary range listed above.

Compensation for non-exempt (hourly), non-sales roles may also include variable compensation from time to time (e.g., any overtime and shift differential) and annual bonus target (subject to plan eligibility and other requirements).
