The Health Disparities & Public Policy program investigates health disparities in traditionally underserved populations. For the past 30 years, we have been conducting the Northwestern Juvenile Project, a 30-year longitudinal study of the health needs and outcomes of 1,829 youth involved with the justice system (now median age 43). The Data Assistant will have two principal responsibilities: (1) help investigate the accessibility of incarceration records in U.S. states and help to match with participant records; and (2) help prepare 7 waves of longitudinal data for archiving, including ensuring correct variable and value labels, data cleaning, and helping with documentation. The Data Assistant ensures submission and maintenance of accurate, timely, complete and reliable data and reports by implementing data management and quality assurance procedures; provides feedback to customers and clients regarding systematic data errors or problems; and documents revisions in codebooks and manuals. This position is full-time, hybrid. Three days per week in-office on our Chicago campus are required. Specific Responsibilities: Strategic Planning

Target hiring range for this position will be between $19.89 - 27.97 per hour. Offered salary will be determined by the applicant's education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.
