Job Description:

Akebia is looking for someone with energy, creativity, and vision to grow with us as we continue to enhance our CMC portfolio and program processes. The Senior CMC Project Manager reporting to the Principal CMC Project Manager will provide project management support and oversight for CMC programs. In this position, you will have the opportunity to have a direct impact on the success of Akebia in treating patients with chronic kidney disease.

Essential Functions and Duties



  • Partner with technical leads to ensure the development of integrated project plans and drive timely execution of cross-functional CMC projects
  • Create strong relationships with team members and functional line managers
  • Lead CMC program team meetings to ensure robust cross-functional discussions occur; including awareness of changes, issues and risks as well as development of mitigation plans; providing detailed minutes and documenting and driving action items
  • Proactively track the status of the assigned program(s) and associated projects, anticipate risks, ensure the development and implementation of mitigation strategies and appropriately escalate issues as they arise
  • Plan, track, report and manage the program and project budgets including collaborating with SMEs to capture SOW and CO deliverables for all projects


Skills & Experience



  • Bachelor's degree in Biology, Chemistry or similar technical background
  • 8+ years of project management experience in biotechnology or pharmaceutical industry
  • Experience managing cross-functional teams
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, including presentation and facilitation skills
  • Financial and project management software expertise (MS Excel, MS Project, OnePager, Office Timeline, Smartsheet)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including an ability to combine attention to detail with a big picture perspective
  • Ability to work independently and manage priorities in a fast-paced environment


Preferred Qualificatoins



  • Experience in CMC strongly preferred
  • Experience managing remote teams strongly preferred


Compensation:

Targeted Base: $137,241-$169,533*

*Base Compensation for this role will depend on a number of factors including a candidate's qualifications, skills, competencies, and experience, and may fall outside of the range shown. Base pay is only one component of the company's total rewards package, all regular employees are also eligible for the corporate bonus program or the incentive compensation program (if applicable), as well as equity. Additional benefits include health care, vision, dental, retirement, PTO, etc.
