The Ground Operations (Gr Ops) Product Consultant works with Leadership across all Operational Departments to further the Company's strategic plan and deliver high-quality projects and innovative business process designs. This role is responsible for maintaining, advancing, and supporting Ground Operations by delivering a safe, reliable, low-cost product to our Customers. The Gr Ops Product Consultant is a detail-oriented thinker, who is ready to drive the future of Ground Operations at Southwest Airlines.

Responsibilities
- Execute strategic roadmaps for software and technology initiatives to achieve Department and Cross-Operational goals.
- Serves as a trusted resource to assist Leadership, Employees, and other departments in understanding Ground Ops Projects purpose, current technology initiative workload, and methodology for Enterprise technology initiative delivery
- Partner closely with Technology Teams to provide advice or solutions within their area of expertise, including requirements, detailed testing, impact analysis, and activation validations
- Collaborate with other Teams across the Ground Ops and the Enterprise including Technology, Standards, and Compliance, Safety and Risk Management, SWA U, Change Management, and other Teams to solicit and provide advice or solutions within area of expertise
- Communicate plan and all relevant components of the plan, such as risk, schedules, expectations, and ongoing updates to Stakeholders, Sponsors, and project Teams to maintain project alignment
- Analyze Enterprise initiatives for software and business impacts, operational performance impacts, Customer insights, and future technology needs to clarify key challenges, identify software process problems, performs root cause analysis, investigate information, perform impact analysis, and formulate and execute plans to develop solutions
- Responsible to ensure adherence to software and technology project governance, developing and implementing technical solutions for ongoing initiatives
- Write, maintain, review, and execute test procedures and test cases
- Initiate and conduct software test case/procedure reviews across teams to ensure tests are relevant and effective, providing support for complex, specialized technical issues, requests and questions related to software process defects, safety/compliance topics and cross product impacts

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, human resources modeling, and coordination of people and resources
- Knowledge of Agile development practices
- Skilled in Windows 10, O365, Outlook / Exchange SMS, and MS Office Suite and mobile devices
- Ability to evaluate future opportunities, oversee business insights analysis, lead process diagnostics, and cultivate recommendation development
- Ability to properly manage confidential/sensitive information
- Ability to identify and apply a wide range of influencing strategies based on the situation and personalities involved
- Ability to recognize and clearly define software and technology problems using various techniques to systematically analyze and weigh alternatives and propose digital solutions
- Ability to effectively communicate information and ideas verbally and in writing so others will understand and reach buy in
- Ability to recognize trends being seen across our products and offer potential solutions
Education
- Required: High School Diploma or GED
Experience
- Advanced-level experience, seasoned and specialized knowledge in:
- Project management including business case development, communication plans, process mapping and team facilitation
- Identifying project risks and potential solutions
- Software development and/or End User support
- Various technology solutions, underlying technology platforms, and software development methodologies used by the department
Physical Abilities
- Ability to perform work duties from [limited space work station/desk/office area] for extended periods of time
- Ability to communicate and interact with others in the English language to meet the demands of the job
- Ability to use a computer and other office productivity tools with sufficient speed and accuracy to meet the demands of the job
Other Qualifications
- Must maintain a well-groomed appearance per Company appearance standards as described in established guidelines
- Must be a U.S. citizen or have authorization to work in the United States as defined by the Immigration Reform Act of 1986
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Must be able to comply with Company attendance standards as described in established guidelines
Pay & Benefits: Competitive market salary from $110,900 per year to $ 123,200 per year* depending on qualifications and experience.
