Sr Lic Vocational Nurse--Combest Central Community Health Center 40940BR 40940BR Position Description Employees in this classification are experienced LVN's responsible for performing a wide variety of patient care activities in an assigned specialty or subspecialty outpatient clinic. Work is performed under the direction of a staff nurse and/or physician as part of a total health care team in providing complete evaluations to patients. Works under the direct supervision of staff nurse or physician. No delegated supervisory authority; may instruct co-workers and supervise them in the performance of special procedures. Work is performed under usual clinic conditions, necessitating a high degree of contact with patients, families and clinic personnel. As part of the TTUHSC and the School of Nursing's Larry Combest Community Health and Wellness Center (TTUHSCSON LCCHWC), you will play an essential role in upholding our mission, vision, and core values while directly contributing to patient-centered care. In this dynamic position, you will collaborate with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary healthcare team to assess, report, and identify changes in patient conditions, helping to develop effective care plans tailored to each individual's needs and preferences. You'll have the opportunity to work with a diverse patient population, gaining a deep understanding of their physical, mental, and cultural health needs. Your role will include utilizing advanced electronic health record (EMR) systems to communicate important patient data, supporting informed decision-making that enhances patient care. You will also design and implement educational plans to empower patients and families with the knowledge to manage their health. By identifying resources and ensuring continuity of care, you'll help guide patients toward the support they need to thrive. Additionally, you'll assist with or perform exams and procedures, take accurate vital signs, and ensure high-quality patient care through the preparation, operation, and sterilization of medical equipment. You will also help maintain inventory and ensure all supplies are stocked and ready for use. Required Qualifications Education: Completion of a Board of Nursing accredited program of vocational nursing. License/Certification: Current Vocational Nursing license in the state of Texas or the attainment of a temporary permit from the Board of Nursing to practice vocational nursing pending full licensure in the state of Texas. Experience: At least two years of LVN experience in a hospital, clinic or community-based environment.
