Position Overview

The VP for the Payments Optimization Communications Business reports to the COO and is responsible for maximizing the growth and retention of communication clients while overseeing the refinement/enhancement of the economics and operations (modernization, stakeholder alignment, value proposition, etc.). This role establishes and manages the approach and accountability for execution and serves as the main point of contact for the communications business.

What You'll Do

  • Provide dynamic and forward-thinking leadership within the healthcare communications business (including print and mail) business as well as positioning the business within Payments Optimization and with partner functions like Sales, Marketing, Client Management and Technology.

  • Assess current operations, approaches, language and processes. Identify opportunities for modernization and innovative solutions.

  • Partner with industry experts, vendors and consultants to evaluate new opportunities and best practices.

  • Lead transformative initiatives within the business and with stakeholders to elevate understanding of the landscape, opportunities and competitive advantages.

  • Set and track key performance indicators to measure operational success, client satisfaction and to drive improvements.

  • Build materials and artifacts for the Payments Leadership Team, Operating Committee and other parties as appropriate.

  • Provide inspirational leadership across Payments. Influence for alignment and create excitement and motivation about long-term goals.

  • Model and hold teams accountable for healthy cultural behaviors. Ensure One Zelis language, constructive interactions, and motivational communication.

  • Lead talent management strategies within the team to ensure development and retention of key talent. Establish production facilities as "great places to work".

What You'll Bring to Zelis

  • Bachelor's degree required; MBA preferred.

  • 10+ years of related industry experience, healthcare and technology preferred.

  • Experience with managing capital expenditure planning, budgets (including P&L responsibility) to support strategic business plans preferred.

  • Experience leading diverse and geographically dispersed teams, including non-exempt associates in production facilities.

  • Able to establish a vision and identity for a business and bring it to life.

  • Transformation, process improvement, automation, technology adoption.

  • Emotional intelligence and growth mindset.

  • Project management and change management skillsets.

  • Creative problem solving.

  • Influences with and without authority, addresses potential challenge or conflict in positive and proactive ways.

  • Comfortably manages complexity and ambiguity, stays calm under pressure.

  • Possesses excellent communication and presentation skills, tailoring messages and outcomes based on the audience (clients, internal stakeholders, vendors, etc.).

Location and Workplace Flexibility

We have offices in Atlanta GA, Boston MA, Morristown NJ, Plano TX, St. Louis MO, St. Petersburg FL, and Hyderabad, India. We foster a hybrid and remote friendly culture, and all our employee's work locations are based on the needs of the position and determined by the Leadership team.
