Genesis10 is seeking a Lead Software Engineer for a client located in Lisle, IL. This is an on-site, contract-to-hire position. Our target pay rate is between $75.00 - $90.00 per hour during the contract and we are only interving candidates able to work on our W2. The target conversion salary is between $145k - $170k with some flexibility. Responsibilities: Lead cross-functional engineering teams- responsible for service portals and backend services, all built on the Pega platform Provide architectural vision and hands-on leadership in building scalable, modern solutions Guide and mentor engineers while working collaboratively with stakeholders to deliver innovative products Drive automation, microservices, DevOps, CI/CD, and API-first development strategies Collaborate closely with Product and Business stakeholders in delivering solutions tailored to commercial vehicle services Turn high-level business requirements into technical designs and behavioral questions for interviews Support the continued evolution of engineering culture and best practices across the digital practice group Requirements: Proven experience leading engineering teams (ideally 10-20+ engineers) in complex, software-led environments Background in building customer-facing platforms or service portals Strong architecture and software design skills, capable of setting technical direction for teams Familiarity with Pega (not required to be an expert) or other low-code platforms, and the ability to go beyond their limitations Experience with modern development practices, including automation, DevOps, CICD, APIs, and Microservices Hands-on expertise in Java, .NET, Objective C, Python, or similar technologies Excellent communication, collaboration, and decision-making skills-able to justify and explain technical decisions clearly Preferred Qualifications: Has experience in fast-paced environments A strategic thinker and executor who is not afraid to get hands-on when needed Strong team leadership presence-able to inspire, direct, and elevate the work of their engineering teams If you have the described qualifications and are interested in this exciting opportunity, please apply!
