As R&D Lab Coordinator and Admin your role pivotal in ensuring the seamless flow of laboratory operations by overseeing the procurement of lab supplies, managing inventory, coordinating chemical waste disposal, and leading safety initiatives, including the 6S program. The ideal candidate will bring strong organizational acumen, proactive problem-solving skills, and a commitment to maintaining a safe and efficient research environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Inventory Management:

  • Establish and maintain an accurate and well-organized inventory of lab supplies, tracking usage and restocking needs.
  • Implement efficient inventory control measures to prevent shortages and reduce excess stock.
  • Communicate with research teams to understand material needs for the lab.
  • Initiate and manage the ordering process of lab supplies and materials through Ariba.
  • Track inventory usage and report on trends.

Financial Responsibilities:

  • Support capital expenditure (CapEx) process through SAP, ensuring budget adherence and accurate tracking.
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities for lab consumables and drive efficiency improvements.
  • Create and distribute weekly cost analysis reports on budget spend.
  • Work closely with Accounts Payable (AP), Procurement, and the Finance team to resolve any financial discrepancies or issues.

6S Program Leader:

  • Manage the 6S program to ensure a clean, organized, and efficient laboratory environment.
  • Conduct regular audits and assessments to maintain 6S standards.
  • Implement improvements and educate staff on the importance of 6S principles.
  • Develop, implement, and enforce safety protocols in collaboration with the safety team.
  • Coordinate safety training programs for laboratory staff and ensure ongoing compliance.
  • Actively participate in safety committees and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Chemistry, Business Administration).
  • Proven experience in lab supply procurement, inventory management, and safety initiatives.
  • Familiarity with chemical waste disposal regulations and best practices.
  • Knowledge of 6S principles and experience in implementing and managing 6S programs.
  • Experience with SAP and financial tracking preferred.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proactive problem solver with excellent decision-making abilities.
  • Effective communicator and collaborator.

This position will be based in office 4 days a week.
