Job Summary and Scope of Responsibility: Support Market Manager and a team of Relationship Managers in the maintenance and management of the team loan portfolio. Leverage client relationships to develop new and expanded banking service and credit product revenue.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities: With or without reasonable accommodation must be able to perform all essential job functions as described below.

  • Manage a loan portfolio including renewals, ongoing covenant and reporting management. Monitor the collection of required reporting information, review and processing of all ticklers for the assigned portfolios.
  • Assist in the analysis and review of borrowing base certificates, collateral review/inspections, approving advance requests and monitoring financial covenant performance of the loan portfolio. Evaluate Aging and Work-In-Process reports from contractor customers to verify accuracy and identify trends.
  • Prepare Financial Compliance Certifications and work directly with Credit Administration to obtain a waiver and take other action as needed.
  • Maintain and update the PLR reporting system and serve as first point contact with Credit Administration regarding questions about specific loans in the PLR system.
  • Review and confirm Risk Grade Certifications and work with Special Assets Department to process upgrades and downgrades.
  • Facilitate communication with and between clients and internal partners to complete necessary activities.
  • Establish and maintain regular contact with clients to build a strong, long-term relationship by exceeding their expectations with the goal of preventing payoffs/transfers to other lenders.
  • Conduct in-person meetings with clients in accordance to plan provided by the Market Manager.
  • Monitor and evaluate loan portfolio for developing trends and keep Market Manager or relationship officers informed of potential issues.
  • Evaluate relationship and recommend changes in terms of loans and lines of credit.
  • Grow portfolio by earning new lending opportunities with managed clients and/or referrals.
  • Identify deposit and cash managements opportunities and refer to partners.
  • Assist with coaching, mentoring, training and development of bank employees, as assigned, to strengthen portfolio management skills.
Minimum Qualifications to Perform Essential Functions:

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Fundamental understanding of loan documents and monitoring requirements.
  • Aptitude for detail and organization.
  • Ability to independently identify, schedule, prioritize and monitor of completion of critical tasks and deadlines.
  • Ability to analyze and interpret financial statements and cash flow, business reports and legal documents.
  • Effective math skills, including ratios, percentages, interest and amortization.
  • Good judgment, decision making and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective verbal communication and business writing skills.
  • Professional demeanor, speaking and presentation skills.
  • Computer proficiency, including Windows and Microsoft Office Suite products.
  • Proficiency at speaking, reading and writing English.
  • Knowledge of business management and planning tools, including financial statements and ratios, budgets, inventory and accounts receivable inventory
  • Effective business development and relationship management skills
  • Understanding of title related transactions including the review of preliminary title reports, encumbrances and CCR's and trust deed recording process
  • Ability to travel to client and business event locations (driving requires continuous possession of a valid driver's license and the minimum level of auto insurance)
Experience and/or Education:
  • Four-year degree in Business/Accounting or equivalent training/experience
  • Two years of experience working with commercial credit products, concepts, processes and functions, or equivalent financial industry experience
  • Experience working with commercial relationship officers and/or in a commercial banking division/department, preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to organize, manage and interpret commercial loan data from various sources.
  • Familiarity with loan documents and the CWB tickler system.
