Our team in Military Aircraft Group is looking for an Electrical Engineering Supervisor to join the Test Equipment team. You will report to the Team Equipment Site Engineering Manager and will have a hybrid work schedule in East Aurora, NY.

The Electrical Engineering Supervisor is a unique position that is meant to be a split between management responsibilities and program design responsibilities. They will be responsible for leading a team of electrical engineers assigned to design and develop test equipment in the Aircraft Group.

This individual will serve as direct supervisor for 1-10 direct reports, providing technical mentoring and training to develop their team's competency, skills, and efficiency to meet test equipment engineering global standards.

The Electrical Engineering Supervisor works together with the Site Engineering Manager to assign engineers to projects as required and is accountable for their team's performance in the execution of their project responsibilities. They also enforce process compliance and participates in process development to improve efficiency and rigor. In addition, this individual will also conduct performance reviews for assigned staff and participate in workforce planning and recruiting/hiring. Often, the Section Head role is a candidates first step into a managerial/supervisory role.

In addition to leadership responsibilities, the Electrical Engineering Supervisor is also expected to serve as a direct individual contributor to assigned projects at 50% capacity.

To serve directly as an Electrical Engineer on Test Equipment projects, and to effectively mentor the assigned team, the Electrical Engineering Supervisor for Test Equipment will need competency in the following disciplines:

  • Electronic Test Console (ETC) Design for Acceptance/Qualification Test Procedure (ATP/QTP) for flight control systems or aerospace components

  • Analog, Digital and/or High Power Circuit Design

  • Design of Real-time Hardware in the Loop (HIL) / Software in the Loop (SIL) test systems for complex flight control systems

  • Cabling design for flight hardware and for test systems

  • Electromechanical design and packaging

  • Printed Wiring Board (PWB) Design

Working familiarity with the following tools and standards is desired:

  • DOORS requirements management system

  • Cadence, OrCAD, or similar

  • PSPICE or similar

  • Teamcenter PLM

  • IPC-620, IPC-630, J-STD-001

  • NFPA-79

To be considered for Electrical Engineering Supervisor, here's what you'll need to bring with you:

  • Bachelor of Science Electrical Engineering with a minimum of 10 years' experience in a broad application of electrical engineering skills or Master of Science Electrical Engineering with 6 years' experience

  • Technical mastery of their functional area of assignment is necessary in order to serve as a mentor for their team

  • Strong people skills to lead assigned team, interface with other section heads, and global managers, and assist with globally matrixed projects. International engagement is a routine element of this role

  • Broad experience with development of a variety of engineering drawings, schematics, and technical reports, thereby possessing a strong ability to review, critique, and approve the engineering work of others (PLM Technical Approver role)

Salary Range Transparency:

Buffalo, NY $115,000.00-$140,000.00 Annually

The base salary range represents the low and high end of the Moog salary range for this position in the given work location. Actual salaries will vary depending on factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance. The range(s) listed is just one component of Moog's total compensation package for employees.
