Job Summary

Dorman is seeking an Operations Engineer to join out team at our electronic component remanufacturing facility in the greater Harrisburg area. As an Operations Engineer, you will focus on improving and maintaining production equipment throughout the facility to ensure optimal performance and compliance. Key responsibilities include maintaining equipment calibrations and ensuring the facility remains ESD (Electrostatic Discharge) compliant. The role also involves assisting lower-level technicians with their assignments and projects related to both the maintenance and repair of production assets. Additionally, as an Operations Engineer, you will collaborate with fellow engineers to continuously evaluate and enhance equipment and processes for improved efficiency and effectiveness.

Preference will be given to local candidates.

Primary Duties

  • Assist and support continuous improvement initiatives related to the enhancement of production processes and asset performance.
  • Conduct research, development, and implementation of new equipment utilized throughout production.
  • Utilize SolidWorks for development, design modifications, and improvements across various types of equipment and fixtures.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation control for equipment calibrations, ESD devices, and asset information.
  • Collaborate with team members on projects aimed at improving productivity across the plant.
  • Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related duties that may be outside of assigned priorities.


Qualifications

  • Motivated and able to work with minimal direction
  • Strong communication andinterpersonal skills
  • Background in software programming
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills
  • Strong problem solving and decision-making skills
  • General mechanical and/or electrical knowledge


Education / Experience

  • Bachelor or Associate degree in Mechanical/Electrical engineering technology or similar
  • Experience working in a manufacturing environment desired
