Summary:
Plan, supervise and manage of all aspects of the Maintenance shop to ensure an effective and efficient operation. Provides maintenance support for all applicable locations in a timely and efficient manner.

Essential Functions:
-Participate in the planning and development of all maintenance related activities on the hospital campus
-Ensure all complaints and trouble calls are responded to in a timely and effective manner to minimize interruption of daily staff routine and patient care activities
-Prioritize trouble calls received with respect to the shop's daily workload. Assign personnel as priorities necessitate
-Responsible for the assignment, performance, and review of shop's preventative maintenance tasks. Department policy dictates that all weekly and bi-weekly tasks, and at least 90% of tasks issued on a monthly, quarterly, semi-annual or annual tasks cycle, are to be completed as reviewed on a monthly basis
-Ensure appropriate training for each staff member on all equipment or system
-Manage any modifications as required to equipment, systems, or physical plant to meet the changing demands on these systems as spaces are redesigned or equipment is changed or added
-Maintain an adequate inventory of repair and replacement stock to minimize delays and equipment down time when maintenance and repairs are necessary, whether scheduled or unscheduled

Education
High School Diploma or Equivalent required.

Licenses and Credentials

Experience
maintenance mechanic work experience 3-5 years required demonstrated supervisory experience 2-3 years preferred

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- The Maintenance Supervisor must be a mechanically inclined individual who is familiar with hand and power tools, and who has strong leadership qualities.
- Must be computer literate and be able to learn new computer processes/systems.
- Must have excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Must be able to think strategically about facilities work and planning.
