Overview

The Hospital/Power Plant Mechanic III is responsible for independently troubleshooting and repairing all mechanical equipment and their associated systems in Carle facilities as well as fire protection and alarm systems and for performing preventative maintenance as required or maintaining the hospital and surrounding lock and key system.
Qualifications

Certifications: Driver's License - Secretary of State (SOS)

Work Experience: Related field 8+ years

Specialized Skills:

  • Has a complete understanding of all mechanical and safety systems functions.
  • Validates understanding of all systems through verbal competency assessed by two of the following: Supervisor, Manager, Director, Executive Director.
  • Operates and maintains without supervision:
    • Fire Alarm system
    • Heating and cooling system
    • Utility mains
    • Steam Supply
    • Medical Gas Systems
    • Domestic Water System
    • Fire Sprinkler System
    • Air Handler and supporting system
    • Plumbing and sewage system
    • BAS automation system

Responsibilities

  • Performs all essential job functions of Maintenance Mechanic II.
  • Responsible for emergency procedures to ensure safety during outages or breakdowns of critical equipment.
  • Maintains ice machines, beds, stretchers, OR tables, kitchen equipment, pumps, motors.
  • Responsible for changing filters in the HVAC system.
  • Inspects and tests fire sprinkler system, reports findings for record keeping and follow-up.
  • Performs regular preventative maintenance on equipment and reports findings.
  • Optionally performs the duties of a locksmith.

Compensation and Benefits

The compensation range for this position is $22.54per hour - $37.64per hour. This represents a good faith minimum and maximum range for the role at the time of posting by Carle Health. The actual compensation offered a candidate will be dependent on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, the candidate's experience, qualifications, location, training, licenses, shifts worked and compensation model.
