Your role and responsibilities

Join ABB's forward-thinking team as we lead groundbreaking projects in Energy transition in Central and Southern Europe! We are seeking an experienced Business Developer who will focus on:
*Building customers relationships (C-level) and securing projects in the Energy Transition landscape such as Green Hydrogen, Power-to-X, Carbon Capture, Sustainable Fuel, Offshore Wind, Nuclear SMR.
*Occasionally acting as Capture Team Leader for large projects in the broader Energy Industries landscape
*Executing specific initiatives in certain geographies or industries
As a Senior Business Developer, reporting to the HUB Sales Manager, you will manage our Energy transition initiative, ensuring that every step we take aligns with our goal of a sustainable future and by doing so creating a robust order pipeline in the European Energy Transition landscape
Key activities
Monitoring market trends and emerging technologies, prioritizing initiatives and go-to-market strategy, forming partnerships with engineering firms (EPC's, OEM's, Technological Providers), developing project pipelines, leading capture teams for strategic projects, and orchestrating sales and bidding for key pursuits.
You will also contribute to the development of sales and growth strategies for key accounts within your responsibilities, ensuring we reach our goals through a structured follow-up process.
As a team builder, you will unite diverse groups under common goals, promoting collaboration between HUB's (regions), Local Division's, Operations Centers and other Divisions to ensure seamless teamwork.

Qualifications for the role
  • We seek someone with extensive networking ability, in reaching sales milestones, a skillful personal motivation to meet challenging goals, and a background in the electrical and automation market related to the Energy Industries. Your practical industry experience will form the foundation of your technical knowledge, enabling you to navigate the complexities of the energy transition landscape. A solid know-how of the electrical and automation business is essential. Experience with European players like EPC's and OEM's is considered as advantage.
  • Your strategic thinking and commercial understanding will be key to improving efficiency, bringing a balanced perspective that combines technical know-how with business acumen. Collaboration is at the heart of what we do, and your ability to build and bridge teams will ensure that we work together effectively, whether in the sales value chain or in challenging customer situations. We value persistence and skilled execution, and your service-minded approach and ability to handle multiple challenges simultaneously will make you an indispensable part of our team.
