Job Summary: Responsible for the designs of photomasks and other production artwork used to create parts and subassemblies that are manufactured using our proprietary PolyStrata technology. This position will work in a cross-functional team environment that will interact with electrical and mechanical engineering, as well as the manufacturing, fabrication and test groups. Complexity of assignments requires initiative and ability to design independently with minimal technical direction. Performs all assignments in compliance with engineering and contractual requirements, and within budget and schedule constraints. May set design policies and procedures. This position typically works under general supervision and direction.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Prepare 3D models for mask inclusion and manufacture through the addition of design for manufacturing features.
  • Be responsible for ensuring all PolyStrata designs conform to documented layout procedures and design rules via DRC.
  • Ensure the efficient operation of the mask design process.
  • Assist in development and maintenance of a LVS process.
  • Assist in the creation of and transition to standard cell and parameterized cell libraries for PolyStrata processes.
  • Assist in developing processes for new design flows for both standard and non-standard parts.
  • Attends meetings with engineering, manufacturing and customer representatives related to design efforts.
  • Maintains related documentation and work records.
  • Participate in layout review meetings.
  • Minimum Job Requirements:
    Two-years of technical training, or equivalent, in drafting and engineering, plus a minimum of five (5) years design engineering experience in IC or MEMS processes.
  • Proficiency using Design Workshop 2000 or similar mask layout tool is required.
  • Proficiency in running/modifying custom GPE scripts is highly desired.
  • Familiarity with PCB layout using Altium Designer is desired.
  • Familiarity with other CAD/CAE software such as SOLIDWORKS, AutoCAD and Ansys HFSS is desirable.
  • Ability to use typical office automation products such as computer spreadsheets and word processing programs.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects and adapt to changing priorities and timelines.
  • Effective written and oral communication skills required.
  • Must be able to work long periods at a design workstation.

Cubic Pay Range:

$35.00 - $41.35 + benefits.

The Cubic pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary.
