Position Overview

The Associate Director of Commercial Partnerships will lead the PreventionGenetics business development team, instilling a culture that achieves revenue goals and frames PreventionGenetics as a premier partner for research, institutional, and biopharma clients. The individual in this role must have in-depth knowledge of PreventionGenetics' products and services in order to understand and identify what motivates customers to buy, and know how to tap into those needs and desires in an effective way. The Associate Director will also work with business development team members to create strategic action plans that support PreventionGenetics' goals and priorities, and formulate new business ventures, markets, and collaboration opportunities in the organized customer space. This individual will recruit, train, coach, lead, and provide performance management for the team.

This position can be remote.

Essential Duties

Include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Maintain professional, genetic, and technical knowledge of PreventionGenetics products, policies, and procedures.
  • Guide team to utilize appropriate sales techniques to achieve revenue goals.
  • Remove obstacles and roadblocks to selling company's products and services.
  • Support sales and business development team members by participating in customer discussions with key clients.
  • Collaborate with other commercial roles, such as the Business Development Managers and Science Liaisons, to maximize the value of the PreventionGenetics portfolio and offerings.
  • Establish and maintain ongoing communication and team operating mechanisms to ensure appropriate information is shared and collaboration within and outside of the team is taking place.
  • Participate in the implementation and support of company strategies and initiatives.
  • Draft, negotiate, manage, and execute contracts and agreements between PreventionGenetics and other entities. This involves contracts with both national and international clients and business partners.
  • Stay knowledgeable of industry trends and clinical development to identify opportunities early, inform on the team's strategic direction, and act upon market dynamics.
  • Maintain strong working relationships with existing clients to enhance client retention, referrals, and references.
  • Assist with planning and organizing on-site sales meetings.
  • Participate in company-sponsored trade shows, national genetic conferences, and meetings.
  • Consistent demonstration of exceptional leadership qualities, including, but not limited to, the ability to attract and retain the best team, foster a culture of high performance; lead with integrity, humility, accountability, and courage; and set a clear vision to energize teams towards the future.

  • Ability to work on a mobile device, tablet, or in front of a computer screen and/or perform typing for approximately 90% of a typical working day.
  • Ability to travel 50% of working time away from work location; may include overnight/weekend travel.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Sales, Marketing, or field as outlined in the essential duties, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 7+ years of experience in a customer-facing sales role in a medical, healthcare, or technical field.
  • 1+ year of experience in a sales leadership role.
  • Demonstrated ability to motivate and lead others either directly or indirectly.
  • Possession of a valid driver's license; no suspended, revoked, surrendered, invalid, etc. allowed.
  • No more than two moving violations, events, or accidents within the last 36 months.
  • No alcohol or drug event in which a vehicle was driven by the candidate or employee, including but not limited to Blood Alcohol Content (BAC) failure, refusal to submit to alcohol or drug test, alcohol related suspension, etc. in the last 36 months.
  • No other results from the Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) check that exposes Exact Sciences to what Exact Sciences deems to be an unacceptable level of liability.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform the essential duties of the position with or without accommodation.
  • Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's Degree in Marketing, Business, Finance, or field as outlined in the essential duties.
  • Experience in genetic testing and/or with biotech industries.
  • Basic knowledge of genetics.

Salary Range:

The annual base salary shown is a national range for this position on a full-time basis and may differ by hiring location. In addition, this position is bonus eligible, and is eligible to be considered for company stock at hire and on an annual basis.
