Daikin Applied is seeking a talented Sr Manager, User Experience. The Sr. Manager, User Experience is responsible for building and managing a team of multifaceted UX designers to deliver user-centered design solutions that align with business goals and technical feasibility. You will lead efforts to enhance the usability and accessibility of digital tools, products, and services within DAA. The Sr. Manager will collaborate with product management and software engineering; build, maintain, and govern DAA's internal design system; and delve into analytics to understand the impact of our digital products. Location: Plymouth, MN - Hybrid or Remote

What you will do:



  • Guide, support, and directly manage UX team members' day-to-day activities, to ensure consistent interactions with their peers in product management and software engineering, successful design reviews with business stakeholders, and high-quality outcomes for Daikin Applied's digital products
  • Instill the Daikin Applied UX process into each team member, and across cross-functional digital product teams, including research and discovery methods, design ideation from rough sketches through highly-visualized mockups, and user testing
  • Identify new technologies, design patterns and processes, and research methods, and incorporate them into both the UX team's, and larger cross-functional product teams', work
  • Lead the cross-functional A/B testing program, in conjunction with peers from product management and software engineering, to define scope, select technology, create a roadmap, administer tests, study results, and drive the promotion and implementation of winners
  • Directly manage the creation and governance of our internal design system, including the pattern library in Figma, the coded component UI library, and the system's documentation
  • Collaborate with leadership peers on the digital product development process, product team structure, and documentation management, to ensure on-time delivery of high-quality digital assets and a smooth day-to-day relationship among cross-functional teams
  • Lead with impact and guide decision-making through a customer-focused approach

Minimum Qualifications:



  • Bachelor's degree or Related education and experience in design of mobile, web and embedded user interfaces
  • 10+ years of experience in design of mobile, web and embedded user interfaces. Lead discovery activities and user testing
  • 6+ years of people leadership experience
  • Extensive experience with customer discovery techniques, including use interviews, usability testing, and journey mapping
  • Expertise and ability to teach techniques in Figma, Sketch, or the equivalent
  • Robust knowledge of design systems and how to mange their governance
  • Deep understanding of HTML, CSS, and other web technologies
  • Work visa sponsorship is not available for this position



Preferred Qualifications:



  • 12+ years of experience in design of mobile, web and embedded user interfaces
  • 8+ years of people leadership experience

The typical annual base salary for this position ranges from $113,800 - $188,000 (+ 20-25% bonus) in Minnesota. The range displayed represents the pay range for all positions in the job grade which this position falls. Individual base pay will depend on a wide range of factors including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
