Position Description: |
The University of Iowa Department of Dermatology is seeking faculty for a position in General Dermatology. Appointment rank may be at the Assistant Professor, Associate Professor level and to either the tenure track, research track or clinical (non-tenure) track consistent with clinical experience and research interest. Appointment to the rank of Instructor (non-tenure track) may also be considered. Successful candidates will be required to self-disclose any misconduct history or pending research misconduct investigation including but not limited to sexual misconduct in prior employment and provide a related release and will be subject to a criminal background and credential check.

Applicants must have an MD or MD/PhD or equivalent. |
Required Qualifications: |
Position requires completion and an ACGME-accredited residency in Dermatology. However, Individuals who trained internationally are encouraged to apply due to alternate board certification pathways supported by the state of Iowa. Eligibility will be considered on a case-by-case basis. The selected candidate for the position must be eligible to obtain or already hold an active Iowa medical license. |
Certifications: |
Applicants must be board eligible, or board certified in Dermatology by the American Board of Dermatology at the time of hire. |
Desirable Qualifications: |
Prior academic experience in Dermatology training programs. Prior teaching experience in the medical sciences, post graduate level. Prior research experience/scholarship in Dermatology or the health sciences. Demonstrated experience providing patient focused care as a member of a multi-disciplinary team. Effective interpersonal and written communication skills and a strong commitment to academic medicine. Professional experience working effectively with individuals from a variety of backgrounds and perspectives. |
