About the Job

Successful candidates will lead the project that aims to quantify individual variation in choosiness, heritability of choosiness, and use genomic tools to identify candidate genes underlying variation in choosiness, conduct data analysis, prepare manuscript for publication and communicate findings at conference. The postdoc will also assist in broader impact activities that explores the use of dance as an alternative teaching tool for animal behavior in classroom and outreach.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Ph.D. degree in evolution, genetics, genomics, or related fields or degree expected before the start date
  • Experience working with genomic data
  • Familiarity with behavioral research
  • Strong writing skills and experience in peer-reviewed publication
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and strong communication skills

Preferred:

  • Experience in both behavioral ecology and genomics
  • Collaborative nature, ability to lead projects and work in teams
  • Demonstrated bioinformatic skills
  • Proficiency in genomic wet lab skills
  • Manual dexterity to work with small, delicate insects and conduct micro-dissections
Pay and Benefits

Pay Range: $60,000 - $65,000 depending on education/qualifications/experience
