Your Role With Us:The PACU nurses at Salem Health work independently and collaboratively with our anesthesia physician partners, as well as inter-departmentally to optimize and provide an excellent patient care experience. PACU provides immediate post-anesthesia, post-surgical and post-procedural (endoscopy, interventional cardiology, interventional radiology, etc.) care to pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients needing emergent or elective surgery/procedures as an inpatient or on an outpatient basis.Professional assets: Within in the PACU, a strong critical care background is a must. The post anesthesia nurse must be able to function independently and in collaboration with other nursing staff and medical providers. Current unencumbered licensure to practice nursing as a Registered Nurse in the State of Oregon. Basic Life Support (BLS) required. ACLS Required. AHA Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) is required within 6 months of hire. Minimum of one year (1) Phase I PACU experience, if no PACU experience then the following will be considered: Minimum of one year (1) acute critical care experience preferred.
